noise scape 4 series  (2016)
is a rework of an ongoing script. it morphs slowly into a kind of “romantic” landscape painting.
the technical basics are still very simple; rows of ellipses with some 2d noise and different color arrays. nevertheless, quite much fine tuning between all sorts of values and many little randoms and noises were done..
with the time, a considerable number of varying versions has accumulated. the work itself consists of an on-and-ongoing controlling(screen output)-and-adjusting(code) process.
for finding a certain finishing point, i usually let the script run and export hundreds of images, and then, another important part of the work means; to go through all these generations and find the very special and best or strange ones, which i would put in some “best of” selection, to check again later. the whole process goes over weeks, sometimes month, to achieve about a point where nothing more or better can or could be added…

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

iteration / structural condensation

“structural condensation”  nov. 2013  (english version first)
looking back at my accomplishments over the last years, i recognise apart, from various formal approaches, a continous drive for structural condensation.
for structural condensation up to a point where the shapes begin to apparently depart from their usual meanings and are not clearly perceptible anymore.
In this structural void an entirely new pattern for composing comes into being – an abstraction of fissuring and reformation.
seen in a sober and technical manner, one may perceive the eternal balancing of meaning, magnitude, colours, shades and properties in order to make out a sound in this ravaged chaos.
most like to walking a tight-rope with concrete and depictive dynamics on one side and the white noise of ambientesque or tranceesque rhytmical harmony on the other.

brick-warp

brick-warp series is based on a 2D perlin noise XY grid, where each rect gets ists values for rotation, x-size and y-size.
different generations are recorded on different layers.

perlin-noise-scape series, 2010-14the programming (roughly outlined):
an undulatory linear motion of a bumpy bezier circle, which is kneaded by random noise values, increases and decreases in size, and turns around its center.
is further getting its color at each frame from an array, picked out of different photos, each row chooses another photo.
this script is so old and so messy, i changed values and functions over and over again, different errors were showing up, interesting enough to work with…

CIRCULATION consists of an circle loop within an circle loop within an X Y matrix. with randomness in number, size, rotation, color and on/off state. each repetition of the process results in one more layer, color maps are selected by keyboard and/or random values

packing BOX 01

 

packing BOX 01 is realizes using a packing algorithm to generate different square packing vector files via processing.
later on build up of a plywood box of 4 layers 4mm plywood and the laser cutting of each side and the removal of the non clued  parts.

ITERATION ellipse consists of an ellipse within an ellipse within an X Y matrix. devided down by 2 on 6-8 layers, with randomness in number, size, rotation, color and on/off state. each repetition of the process results in one iteration, which is used as the starting point for the next iteration.
